It is believed that Dragon's Blood Jasper's deep green colors represents a dragons tough skin, while the deep red represents it's blood. Dragon's are symbols of protection and courage, making it a great stone for promoting physical strength, confidence, endurance, and focus. Dragon’s Blood is also believed to promote self discovery and self love.
Dragon's Blood Jasper is not to be confused with Bloodstone, which is a totally different mineral. Dragon's Blood Jasper, also known as Dragonstone or Dragon Jasper, is comprised of green Epidote and red Piemonite. It is mined primarily in Australia as well as South Africa. Some ancient stories suggest that Dragon Blood Jasper is formed from the remains of ancient dragons, with the green being dragon skin and the red, their blood.
