Selenite is believed to be a powerful protection stone. Healers have used it to cleanse the mind, body and spirit of negative energy. Selenite is also known to cleanse any other stones that are being used in healing practices and meditation.

Selenite is named after the Ancient Greek goddess of the moon, Selene.  It is a variety of gypsum and forms as white, translucent crystals with striations and a shiney luster. Selenite can be found all over the world and forms in enormous deposits and beds of sedimentary rocks such as limestone or in clay.
